Join Lynn Battle, with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, as she targets pollution and what we can do to battle this problem. She will have a hands-on model to show how pollution in the city spreads to our rivers.

Join artist, Judy Thornton, as we create art with recycled materials. This will be a fun and creative program to encourage creativity.

Build a Better World Finale

Today is our program finale. Everyone is invited.  We are excited to have the Montgomery Zoo present a program on “Animal Adaptations”.  Come learn what makes animals unique and how they are special to their environment.  Come see which animals they will be bringing!

* Certificates will be given out to those who turned in their Reading Logs on July 7, 2017.

* Those who receive a certificate are invited for refreshments after the program today.

Come see our special selection of popular teen books, and add your recommendation of a “must read” to our list for others to see.

The dates and times of this forum will be decided after talking with the teens who have signed up to see when is best for them.


Build a Better World by Helping Others


We are partnering with Angels for the Elderly to make a better world for our seniors and for yourselves. Do you have a special talent you would like to share, or join us as we play dominos, play card, or color adult level coloring sheets with our senior friends?

The dates and times of this outreach program will be decided after talking with the teens who have signed up to see when is best for them.


Build a Better World by Expressing Yourself

Do you know everything there is about Panic at the Disco? Are you a Harry Potter super fan? Is basketball your life? Amanda Kaufman from the English and Philosophy Department at Auburn Montgomery will help you create a handmade magazine – also known as a ‘zine – that explores something you love.  Come and do a little bit of writing and a little bit of art, and share your passion with the world!

Come hear what the Montgomery Botanical Gardens is doing to “Build a Better World”. Join Ethyl Boykin as she describes what has been done already, and what her vision holds for the future.  This is Montgomery’s first Botanical Gardens, so let’s learn all about it and see what we can do to help it grow.
