“Build Your Own” series: June 7 – “Upcycling” Planter 3:45 – 5:30 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of “up-cycling” your old plastic bottles into small planters for your indoor growing needs. Participants are asked to bring their own plastic bottle if at all possible. Other materials will be provided. Open to all ages. Please RSVP by June 2nd so materials for crafts can be obtained.
June 12 – Department of Archives and History Program 2:00 p.m. Join the library and the Department of Archives and History for a fantastic program featuring prominent history in the state and how we can use it to build a better future.
Stress Relief Coloring MW 3:45-5:30 Spend some time connecting with coloring! The library will have coloring sheets for all age levels and welcome everyone who wants to attend. Stop by and spend a bit just taking a break from your hectic schedule to destress with some crayons and a coloring sheet.
Reading Challenge June 5 – July 14 Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to participate in our Summer Reading challenge. There are small prizes for anyone who completes the goal for their age level! Sign-ups for children and teens will begin on May 5, 2017.

June 8 — Build a Better Environment Discussion: Recycling, the Environment, and You! – How we effect the environment with our trash and what we can do to help reduce and reuse the items we have. Activity: Recycled Newspaper/Magazine Bead jewelry – Teens will create their own beads and jewelry out of old newspapers and magazines. (Items Needed: Newspapers, Magazines, Glue/Modpodge, straws, string, scissors)
June 15 — Build a Better You Discussion: How to better ourselves through mistakes – We all make mistakes, some big and some small. We’ll be exploring some of our mistakes to see what effects they’ve had on us and what we’ve learned from them. Activity: Working through our Mistakes worksheet and “A Lie and 2 truths” game.
June 22 — Build a Better Community Discussion: Why community Matters –Whether at home or at school, we have a community of people who make up our daily lives. Today we discuss why our communities matter and who makes up our community including agencies like law enforcement, fire and rescue, etc. Activity: Mute Organization activity and Cup Tower Build activity
June 29 — Inspiring Others Discussion: Inspiration Station – Everyone has inspirations, whether it’s a parent, teacher, or a friend. We’ll be discussing people and things that inspire us to do great things. Activity: String Art (string, cardboard/cardstock, brads/pushpins)
