Events:

May 1 – 7: National Children’s Book week! This week we celebrate Children’s Literature and all the authors who have become our favorites over the years! This year marks the 98th anniversary of Children’s Book Week being an event, and we invite you to join us for several fun things this week!

May 1 – 7: Where’s Waldo? Join us this week as we search for the famous search and find character Waldo hiding among the books in the Children’s section!

May 1 – 7: Favorite Book Titles Stop by the library to write out your favorite children’s book title on a book façade to be displayed in the library for the week.

May 3 – Build Your Own Series: Suncatcher 3:45 – 5:15 p.m. Sign-ups open from 4/21/17-5/1/17 The start of a new series of monthly events on building or crafting a themed project; sign-ups are required to allow for the purchasing of materials. Open to all Ages.

 

Children’s Programs 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Ages: 1—4

May 2 –Picnics Books: The Pigs’ Picnic – Keiko Kasza Click, Clack, Quackity-Quack – Doreen Cornin Activity:  Outdoor “picnic” (weather permitting)

May 9 – Pets Books: ­A Bed for Kitty – Yasmine Surovec Dogs – Emily Gravett Activity:  Cat and Dog Paper Crafts

May 16 – Bugs Books: Bugs in my Hair?! – Catherine Stier Ed Emberley’s Bye-Bye, Big Bad Bullybug! – Ed Emberley Activity: Ladybug Craft

May 23 – Summer Books: Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses – James Dean Summer is Summer – Phillis Gershator Activity:  Giant Paper Popsicles

May 30 – Memorial Day Books: The Wall – Eve Bunting I am So Brave! – Stephen Krensky Activity: Popsicle Stick Star Streamers
