  1. Today we will be discussing “The Secret Chord”, by Geraldine Brooks. This is an historical fiction account of David as he rises from an obscure shepherd to a renowned king. Then, we will receive our book for December, “Titans”, by Leila Meacham. It is a story about Texas in the early 1900’s and its inhabitants who were on the cusp of an oil boom that would spark a period of dramatic changes and economic growth. Here, two unforgettable characters emerge and find their fates irrevocably intertwined; Samantha Gordon, the privileged heiress to the sprawling Las Tres Lomas cattle ranch near Fort Worth, and Nathan Holloway, a sweet-natured and charming farm boy from far north Texas.

  1. Eastbrook Mystery Book Club3:00 pm
  2. Today we will be discussing “The Unexpected Guest”, a play by Agatha Christie and adapted as a novel by Charles Osborne. This is a classic Christie mystery where what seems obvious isn’t. You will find in this story a tangled web of lies and cover ups, where nothing can be taken at face value, and the murderer, and motive, is the greatest mystery of all. We will receive our next book “The Fallen Man” by Tony Hillerman.
