Story Time

 Wednesday@ 10:00 a.m.  

 

 

October 5th – Ms. Takela Underwood and Smokey the Bear, an American advertising mascot created to educate the public about the dangers of forest fires, will visit the library.

 

October 12th – Children encounter all types of people and what better way to teach them the difference between good and bad people than by reading The Book of Mean People by Toni &Slade Morrison and Fancy Nancy and the Mean Girl by Jane O’Connor. Children will also enjoy songs and coloring sheet.

 

October 19th – “No! Mommy I’m afraid of that.” “That’s going to make me have a nightmare.” are some of the things children may say before reading Creepy Things Are Scaring Me by Jerome and Jarrett Pumphrey and There’s A Nightmare in My Closet by Mercer Mayer. Children will also enjoy songs and coloring sheet.

 

October 26th – There are always lessons to learn in everyday life. Author Mercer Mayer continues to teach children those lessons with Just Not Invited & Just Helping Dad, where the character Litter Critter goes on all types of adventures. Children will also enjoy songs and coloring sheet or craft.

 

 

 

 

Afternoon Fun Time

Join Rufus A. Lewis Regional Library’s Staff and the Montgomery Therapeutic Center for an afternoon of fun and activities. Enjoy story time, games and movies to help relax from a day at school.

October 11          Facts About Medicare

Time:                     10:00 A.M.

Description:        Benefits, updates and changes to Medicare will be discussed.  A question and answer session will follow the discussion.

Time:                     6:00 P.M.

Description:        This course is an introduction to the ancient practice of Yoga.  Through a series of gentle Yoga Poses, participants will experience a sense of well-being and relaxation.  comfortable, formfitting, but stretchy clothing is recommended.  Participants of all levels of health, mobility, and flexibility are encouraged to attend as yoga Poses can be adapted for comfort.
