We just want to let our Patrons know we are in the final week of the Food For Fines campaign! If you wanted to clear your fines or just make a donation, now is the time!!
Patrons & Staff of the Montgomery City-County Public Library (MCCPL) may once again contribute to our annual 6-week Food for Fines Campaign. Scheduled to begin April 11, 2016 in conjunction with the start of National Library Week, the Campaign will continue for 6 weeks through May 21 at all ten (10) city and county locations of MCCPL.
For the last 19 years, our Food for Fines Campaign has allowed our patrons an annual grace period to clear their overdue fines. Here’s how it works: Donate a minimum of 13 ounces of non-perishable, canned food items to our Campaign for each overdue book or media item (DVD, CD, book-on-tape, etc.) returned at the same time. We will forgive the overdue fine and clear your patron record for that item. All food collected will be given to the Montgomery Area Food Bank at the end of the Campaign.
This Campaign period also provides an easy opportunity for the general public to contribute to the Montgomery Area Food Bank. You don’t have to have any overdue material to contribute to the big blue Food Bank barrels located at any of our 10 locations! Just drop off your donated food items to your nearest branch of MCCPL between April 11 and May 21.
Our patrons clear their overdue fines…the Montgomery Area Food Bank receives the much-needed food items…it’s a win/win situation for everyone!
