Summer Reading Program Kick-Off

On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!

              Meet and Greet— Today all participants will be given information/handouts about this year’s SRP. Come to find                   out everything we plan to accomplish during the 6 week event. We will answer any questions you may                 have     about this year’s SRP.    Our Summer Reading Program will consist of story time, activities, games, enjoying new       books, and arts and crafts.

Part-1 The Alabama Cooperative Extension System Presents the SNAP-Ed Program, which stands for the

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Education Program) uses the curriculum Power of Choice

for youth to provide quality nutrition education. This program is a 10 lesson course that focuses on:

Basic Nutrition, Healthy Eating, Food Safety Skills, Healthy Food Preparation Tips, Smart Shopping

techniques, Hands -on-Demonstrations for Healthy Snacks and Recipes.

This program will also meet June, 15, 22, July 6, 13 for one hour each session.

We will use some of the author’s ideas and some of our own.

             Pintlala’s Staff has put together a one day mini Summer Olympics.

Sara Kunau – Department of Alabama Archives and History.

OLYMPIC BOX – Students will learn about many of Alabama’s famous Olympic athletes.

The box includes a list of Alabama medalists. It also contains magazines, articles,

photographs, and quizzes relating to the history of the Olympics and the 1996

Summer Olympics.

 

 

JULY 9, 2016 @ 10:00 to 12

              SUMMER READING FINALE —FUN DAY

                         A day of fun put on by the MCCPL Children Librarians: games, face painting, relay races,

sack races, jump rope contest, obstacle course, hula hoop, bean bag toss, arts and craft,

pac man,  storytelling, three legged race, inflatables, and refreshments.     The event will be held at:
