<p><strong>Morgan Library</strong> Frazine Taylor, Head of Reference at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, will be appearing at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library auditorium from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2009, to present tips and resources on researching African-American genealogy from her book <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Researching African American Genealogy in Alabama: A</span> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Resource Guide</span> and her long career as a prominent genealogical researcher. There will be an opportunity to purchase signed copies of Ms. Taylor’s book. Participants are invited to stay after the presentation to try genealogical databases owned by the Montgomery City-County Public Library System or being evaluated on a trial basis during the month of December. All members of the public interested in African American genealogy are invited from persons wanting to get to know how to get started in tracing their roots to seasoned researchers. Christy is visiting Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob the week between Christmas and New Year. Something happens and her friends, Aunt Marti and Todd are mad at her. Why has God let this happen?</p>

<p>The Bookmark boys are reading the <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Call of the Wild</span> (graphic novel) by Jack London. The story is about a dog named Buck and his struggles with his masters and his development from a tame dog into a wild beast.</p>

<p>Brenda Henson with the 4-H club will go over Potential Hazards of Electricity and Home Safety Checklist. The children will make and take a</p>
<p>flashlight.</p>

<p>Movie Time: Pike Road Branch will be showing Disney’s Nature: Earth. Three animal families (polar bear, elephant and humpback whale) are on a journey across our planet. Rated G</p>

<p>Pike Road Branch is very excited to have special guest Bobby Cole, the author of <span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Dummy Line</span>. The book is about hunting escapades and is truly a page turner. Bobby Cole will speak on Thursday January 28<sup>th</sup> @ 10am.</p>

There is a race between the terrorists and the good guys. Who will be first?</strong></p>

<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Christy Miller Series</span> is a Christian series of books for teenage girls by Robin Gunn. Christy, a 14 year old farm girl from Wisconsin, spends her summer with her aunt and Uncle in California. She is faced with challenges quite different from her safe country life.<strong></strong></p>

<p>Celebrate the themes of art, poetry and drama!  Enjoy read aloud, lively discussion.  Here is your chance to express yourself by performing original or written poetry, songs or monologues.  You can also come to listen and cheer others on.  Please call and register for this program.  The winner will receive a prize.</p>

<p>All teens are welcome to join the teen advisory board.  Come out and  meet with your friends and Ms. Johnson , the Young Adult Librarian.  Bring your ideas for programs, books and more.  Refreshments will be served as we brainstorm new ideas  The Teen  Advisory board meeting held every first Thursday of the month.</p>
